C1 Energy (Shanghai) – Sep 6, 2010 ---Sinopec Changling Petrochemical arranged to consume 290,000mt of crude oil in September, flat from the previous month with daily throughput of 9,700mt, said a refinery source.
The source also revealed the refinery would bring on stream an 8-mil-mt/yr (160 kbd) crude distillate unit by the end of October, when monthly throughput capacity of the refinery would soar by 50% to about 450,000mt.
As C1 reported earlier, Changling Petrochemical was expected to put a 2.8-mil-mt/yr fluid catalytic cracker and a 2.4-mil-mt/yr gasoline & gasoil hydrotreating unit into production end October. Besides, a 1.7-mil-mt/yr residue hydrotreating unit as the supportive secondary unit would come on stream in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Changling Petrochemical, located in Yueyang City of Central China's Hunan Province, has a topping capacity of 5-mil mt per year. It mainly refines Shengli crude oil supplied via pipeline. It currently owns two FCCs with a total annual capacity of 2.2-mil mt, one 800,000-mt/yr coker and one 500,000-mt/yr reformer.
