Sinopec Changling Petchem to complete new CDU construction by year-end

Mar 09, 2010 14:10 PM

C1 Energy (Guangzhou) – Mar 9, 2010----Changling Petrochemical is expected to wrap up construction of one 5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit (CDU) by the end of 2010, a refinery source said.
After the affiliated secondary units for the new CDU being operational in mid-2011, the refinery's comprehensive refining capacity will reach 8.5-mil mt per year (170,000bpd), said the source.
The refinery plans to dismantle one 1.2-mil-mt/yr (24,000bpd) fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) this April, which would somewhat affect its crude throughput in 2010.
However, total capacity of its fluid catalytic crackers would increase to 3.4-mil mt per year (68,000bpd) after launch of one 2.4-mil-mt/yr (48,000bpd) new FCC in 2011.
In addition, on line of one 2-mil-mt/yr (40,000bpd) gasoil/gasoline hydrocracker in 2011 would upgrade the refinery's oil products specifications to national III standards.
Located in Yueyang of Central China's Hunan province, Changling Petrochemical has topping refining capacity of 5-mil mt per year. It mainly eats domestic Shengli crude. It has two residue fluid catalytic crackers with combined capacity at 2.2-mil mt per year (44,000bpd).
